Re: Green Drive System
From some of the forum posts I'm told that the system regularly clocks drivers at 100+ mph when the handbrake goes on...

Re: Green Drive System
Have had buses were you can go through roundabouts no problem but get a different bus on the same route and get a red.You can get buses were the braking seems 2 harsh and get a red no matter how easy you take.

Re: Green Drive System
If fitted to Merc powered Solos, it starts to leak. Arriva SC and Worst Bradford have lost Solos that way to fire!

I`ve been clocked at over 100mph.Told the green road champion(yes there is one) and he said that happens when the satellite loses you then picks you up further along the road.

I honestly can't believe First are wasting so much money on this...I we all know what is gonna cause accidents and what is gonna make passengers uncomfortable without a daft light telling us.
As mentioned above, these things always have faults as well, our version (RIBAS) does things like flashing Over Speeding when the handbrake is on, or even Harsh Acceleration and Harsh Braking at the same time

I think i'd fail this miserably, I see enough red lights as it is without more on the dashboard than there already is!

Re: Green Drive System
I think I would have always have it in the red, as I drive Darts & Solos as semi autos, and if the box is a ZF or Voith, I use the hold gears! It is possible to get a B7TL to do less than 1 mpg!

That's the only way to drive a dart, I got one to boil over the other day doing that on hills!

Re: Green Drive System
I'm not a fan of the Drive Green system, it was bad enough when they began tracking buses, but now they're monitoring everything you do. I wouldn't mind so much, but the system is obviously inaccurate and not calibrated in some buses, and to top it off you cannot tag off which means that another driver could drive like a maniac whilst your still tagged in and it rapes your score.
How can it lose the satellite? Has it tried looking up? Boggles my mind when my satnav spends 10 minutes looking for satellite....look UPK1YRL wrote:I`ve been clocked at over 100mph.Told the green road champion(yes there is one) and he said that happens when the satellite loses you then picks you up further along the road.

We have some 'new' secondhand buses in work with those on, not that they're being used - great fun seeing how high I can get it to go!

Don't think Eastern Counties or Essex do yet. Have a feeling Wales and Manchester don't either..

Re: Green Drive System
I think they should fit it to a 25 year old Leyland Olympian/Gardner, and shove it on a route with a modern bit of plasticrap, and see which is greener..Guaranteed it will be the Olympian...

What makes you think that??
Re: Green Drive System
DFor starters an old Oilycan does nearly twice the MPG of modern plasticrap..

Yes Eastern Counties have the Green Drive System in place, as I found out today.
Re: Green Drive System
The green road system is nationwide with First,so no matter where you work you are stuck with it.
