Go Ahead get the go ahead on Ipswich Buses

Go ahead, which has a 40% share in Ipswich Buses, will be taking over the whole of the company from Ipswich Borough Council in September. This will be the end of Ipswich Buses being a municipal bus company and becoming just another part of the Go Ahead empire.

Has it gone thourgh yet?

Last I heard it was due to be finalised in September, but still not heard anymore.

Update: It has been called off. They both agreed to walk away from the talks amicably as it "wasn't the right time"

They probably saw what a 2 & 8 that Ipswich Buses are actually in.

Possibly. It was in some bus magazine that a driver brought into the paying in room.

Well they are now buying second hand, and have sold off quite a few low floor Darts and Solos

I believe its four ex-London ALX400 bodied Tridents and two brand new Olympus bodied Scanias with leather seats! One of the Tridents is apparently going to get converted with leather seats and tables too...why I ask? Haven't they got anything better to spend the money on??

Apparently the deal with Go-Ahead fell through and they are now not taking over Ipswich buses!
