Ran out of juice.
Can't believe it. The other day I was merrily driving along in my bus, a single deck Scania, when she suddenly started to loose power rapidly. Limped her into a bus stop where she promptly conked out. Tried starting her but she just did Jimmy Saville impressions. When the fitter arrived he informed me that she was out of diesel!!
Re: Ran out of juice.
Might have been the local gypos syphoning off the diesel.

One of the Jam Rolls that 'works' for us ran out of fuel twice in one week.
Sat there finger on the start button until the starter burnt out both times. Was not popular with the fitters.

Most buses dont have fuel guages, and if they do, they are normally broken. Volvo have finally decided fairly recently to fit fuel guages again as standard, as well as computerised MPG displays.

I can find the MPG display on our B7RLE's, only the digital speedo, which no other volvo's from the older batches at other depots are fitted with. I dont know why its not on our ones.

That's quite a bad decision on the manufacturers part. Why do you think they would omit such a substantial and simple thing from standard manufacturing procedure? It sounds very silly to me!

Probably to save costs.
Our MAN's and a handful of Darts have them fitted, most don't work. The 10 plate E400s do as well, but doubt it'll be long before they don't work either

Nah, she'd been over looked the night before and hadn't been refuelled. I think I know how it might have happened too. Over heard a colleague the other night saying that they couldn't be asked driving their bus round to the depot and were just going to leaving up at the bus station. So it is most likely that the bus they couldn't be asked driving to the depot will not get fuelled, washed or swept out. Trouble is there are no supervisors on in the evening to ensure that lazy drivers aren't doing this sort of thing.
Re: Ran out of juice.
A certain local company had one of their articulated buses break down in rush hour traffic blocking of two 'popular' exits of a roundabout. It was there for about 45m before they got a wrecker in to pull it clear. That ran out of diesel too but I think it was because the fuel had been siphoned out rather than they hadn't filled it. Still, we all have to get used to breakdowns don't we

Why on Earth would anyone want to steal the manky, shitty diesel that they use in buses is a real mystery! Certainly wouldn't recommend putting it in your car!!
Re: Ran out of juice.
Especially if it was the pink F as they use bio diesel!
