because it's a bus and it makes them money and if not a major fault saves loss of mileage?

That bus should have been road called, and stood. I have seen the consequences of a Voith box going BANG on a road junction. The company will also have got a fine for the oil spill from both the gearbox and rear axle after the box went in 2 gears at once! All management care about is lost mileage.

I was on a B9TL earlier, and it sounded totally shagged, then was on an FTR which sounded like a sodding steam train. Neither should have been on the road. Later on there was a double deck on the FTR route...
