Selling Your Souls / Sick Pay
Evening!
Anyone got any expeience of a company trying to 'buy' your sick pay from you?
ie: offering a lump-sum to change the terms and conditions of your contract.
Word is my new parent company Go-Ahead, has done this in the past.
I'm not keen to give up my rights. But if it comes to it, they can be taken away after a consultation period anyway.
Who knows what the going rate is?
What have others been offered / accepted / rejected?
Looking forward to your replies!

I know someone who worked for Go Backwards owned Metrobus in Orpington, and said the company went into freefall after the takeover...Contract changes and a totally crap management strategy..He left double sharpish..

Go-Ahead have sanctioned 3.2% across the board with local top-ups this year. We're in pay talks at the moment. I believe Metrobus got 5% (3% last year then 2% this year).

ahhhh. is that the pay rise you're talking about? we got right royally ripped off with that last year. Anyhow, i was more interested in any info regarding a lump-sum pay off in exchange for no sick pay. Did B+H settle for an agreement like this??
Hope everything is good with you EBD on the sunshine coast!

All is good at the mo dude. We're in talks right now we got offered 2% which is likely to get rejected so we'll go back and see what Roger French will change it to. We also have a new union branch secretary so he'll want to make his mark. (they've tried to get rid of him in the past so this should be interesting)
