Re: Been Offline For A Bit
Had a stent fitted in LGI yesterday, back home now.
Phoned DVLA and I'm not to drive anything for 4 weeks, PCV entitlement suspended for 6 weeks.
They are sending out some forms for me to fill in an get my consultant to fill in. Depending on the contents of those depends whether or not I have to do the treadmill test to get my licence back.
Hopefully, I should be back at work in 6 weeks or so.

Ok, DVLA haven't suspended my licence, doctor has signed me fit for work, as of Monday.
There is an ongoing medical investigation that could lead to a suspension of PCV entitlement until I pass a fitness test, (walking on a treadmill with inclination). It depends on what the consultant wrote in his half of the documentation sent to DVLA.
DVLA have been known to drag their feet so I'm pleased they haven't suspended my licence and I can now go back to work after the standard 6 weeks off.
Complete change of lifestyle since I had my MI and diagnosed as type 2 diabetic has seen my weight drop, fitness level rise and general well being improve dramatically.
The biggest thing I have done though is stop smoking. I was quite a heavy smoker before the MI. Since, I have had half a fag, got nothing from it, didn't enjoy it, got half way through it before binning it and the rest of the pouch of tobacco.
Onwards and upwards

Glad you are getting better Blakeyhammer.I often hear stories of people being (and staying) fitter after a heart attack,it must give people a warning that life is precious.

Finished my first week back on earlies yesterday, no worries, no problems except them trying to give me overtime everyday. The extra hours / money would have been nice, but as I'm back on Light Duties, thought they were taking the piss to be honest. Overtime situation will be reviewed in a month or so me thinks.
