Lost Property

Post  2eZero on Thu Aug 12, 2010 6:31 pm

Well. Quite a few things have been left on the buses so far in my tenure with this company. Such wonderful things as purses, clothes, prams and even a dog.

However, today whilst at a stop another bus drew along side. Doors opened next to the window and I expected to be told about something 'kicking off' nearby as was often the case in this area.

But no. Instead the driver opened his cab door, grinned at me and with a black wallet opened it to reveal a local Police Force shield and warrant card. Shocked Laughing Laughing Laughing

From my days in Wales, when an officer lost their credentials they got a telling off from their Sarge, following by the duty Inspector AND the Regional Chief Super! They might do things differently over here in England but I'm sure that he would have had a telling off as the warrant card was collected by a marked Traffic Unit Laughing

I once found a large swing top black plastic bin on my bus. It'd been left in the luggage rack. It was bloody big enough not to miss like!

At Huntingdon and District (before they were taken over by Stagecoach) the most common item in their lost property office was...............trousers. Bit difficult to loose them yet plenty of people in Huntingdon and around the Fens managed to!
